Dr Jackie is a chartered counselling psychologist, researcher and coach who works with clients to understand their lived experience and what challenges they are currently facing with their mental health. Dr Jackie works with clients experiencing a wide range of psychological struggles including work related stress, burnout, anxiety & depression. She is committed to walking alongside her clients as an empathic guide; as they face their pain and explore the choices that they have for living a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
Experience
Dr Jackie has extensive experience as a staff counsellor in the NHS, most recently supporting health professionals who have worked on the front line during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Her work both as a staff counsellor and a therapist in her private practice, involves working with clients struggling with work related and personal issues that have impacted their mental health. She has extensive experience of working with high achievers who can often present with severe stress, anxiety or burnout.
Before becoming a counselling psychologist, Dr Jackie worked as a management consultant and she therefore has direct experience of working in corporate organisations.
Having completed a research doctorate, Dr Jackie has experience of conducting research into lived experiences of individuals particularly in a work context. She is also an accomplished university lecturer, presenter and training facilitator; developing training courses as well as delivering them. Dr Jackie has been consulted by industry and government bodies on issues related to mental health and wellbeing.
Qualifications
Dr Jackie holds a professional doctorate in counselling psychology, is a chartered member of the British Psychological Society and a registered practitioner psychologist with HCPC.
Dr Jackie also holds a postgraduate diploma in psychology, a postgraduate certificate in counselling, a postgraduate certificate in teaching, a masters in business systems analysis and design, and an undergraduate degree in social administration and politics .
